President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been called to intervene decisively and restore the rule of law in the Mining Sector that Gold is not offshore without Ghana gaining meaningfully.

The call by a group, Lands and Mining Watch Ghana (LMWG) is due to the rampant impunity demonstrated by Angela List and her accomplices in the illegal exportation of Gold from Adamus Resources.

The Group, Lands and Mining Watch Ghana made the call at a press conference on Wednesday, 15th May 2024 in Accra to demand immediate actions and intervention of the President of the Republic to protect its interests, a substantial 10% stake in Adamus Resources.

Speaking at the press conference to address the Disregard for Court orders and protecting Ghana’s interests in the Mining Sector, the Convener for the group, Solomon Owusu stated that the blatant disregard for the Rule of Law by the Judiciary is unacceptable and demands immediate redress.

He revealed that some security agencies are involved in facilitating the illegal exportation of Gold despite a pending injunction application which undermines public trust in the integrity of law enforcement instructions.

“The revelation that Angela List, in collaboration with selected individuals from political and security circles, has orchestrated a bold and illegal scheme to export gold valued at over 7 million USD from Adamus Resources”, he alleged.

To ensure justice is served, hence the Rule of Law is restored in the mining sector, Solomon Owusu urged the media, civil society organizations, and all stakeholders to unite in demanding accountability and transparency.

“It is imperative that those responsible for violating the law are held to account and that measures are put in place to prevent such flagrant disregard for court orders and national interests from occurring in the future”, he demanded.
