The headmaster of the Aggrey Memorial A. M. E zion Senior High School has called old students and corporate institutions to Come to the aid of the school as it celebrates it’s 80th Anniversary of existence.
Aggrey Memorial A. M. E zion Senior High School was established in 1940 by Dr. E. A. Appiah as a living tribute to his uncle Dr. Kwegyir Aggrey with six boys.
Currently, the student population is above 2000 and runs all the course offered at the Senior High level.
Speaking at the Press Launch and unveiling of it 80th anniversary Logo in Accra, the headmaster, Reverse. Dr. Franklin Boadu revealed that, currently the school is dire need of vocational Centre for the Home Economics and Visual Arts Departments.
Furthermore, inadequate staff accommodation, completion of new house block at the girls’side, provision of additional toilet and bathroom facilities.
He also noted that, the transportation situation of the school is bad that, the school needs a new 65 sister bus.
In addition, the classrooms and dormitory blocks he said needs renovations as well painting of the entire school.
However, Dr. Reverse. Franklin Boadu acknowledged the numerous contributions made by AMOSA citing the funding of the Assembly Hall lighting System, installation of street lights on campus, supply of 20 pieces of maxi size of dust bins to stop littering on campus, furnishing of the headmaster’s office with air conditioning as well as 50% funding of the 79th Anniversary /Speech and Prize Giving Day.
On his part, the National President of AMOSA, Dr. Peter Amponsah Mensah used the occasion to call on all members to lead as eagles with their long range beams into the educational reforms at their alma mater and continuously challenge school managers to provide them with aggressive return on investment made.
