The Postal Couriers Service Regulatory Commission has embarked on a day operation to clamp down on illegal courier services in the Greater Accra region.
The operation which started in the early hours of today, Wednesday, 26th June, 2019 by the Commission in collaboration with the Greater Accra Regional Motor, Transport & Traffic Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police is to sanitize the courier industry.
Briefing the Press at the regional MTTD office in Accra, the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Hamdaram Zakaria indicated that, it is time courier operators regulate their services with the Commission.
To her, it is of importance for people oferring this services are licensed as a way of the Commission having a data base of all operators in the country.
“We are doing this to regularize the courier services as well ensure the safeguard of customers, goods and services.”, he emphasized.
With regards to releasing of any seized motorbikes, One have to pay an amount six hundred cedis which is 250 units.
Hamdaram Zakaria, the Executive Secretary urged all courier operators to regularize their services to avoid any penalties.
