Residents of Aforkpui in the Agortime-Ziope District of the Volta region have made a passionate appeal to the government to help relieve them of their continuous unbearable living conditions.
According to the residents, their livelihood is characterised by lack of potable water, healthcare, educational facilities, good road network and toilet facilities, which are difficult to come by.
A visit to the Aforkpui community recently by our reporter, Paul Mamattah revealed that the residents to a large extent depend on water from a dam which dries up often and most especially during the dry season.
Speaking in an intervew with our reporter, the Divisional Chief of Aforkpui, Torgbui Tumfo Agblago III, said businesses in the communities are negatively affected due to the the nature of the road network from Ziope to Aforkpui community, hence passionately called on government to come to their aid as early as possible.
Acording to the Chief, these problems have been in existence for quiet a time but nothing has been done about them, in the face of the numerous appeals by the inhabitants.
Torgbui Tumfo Agblago III reiterated that, they have made it known to the Agortime-Ziope District Assembly to help the town by providing them with social amenities but it appears there is no help in sight therefore vowed not to entertain any political campaign in the community if nothing is done by providing the Aforkpui community with potable water, clinic, toilet facility among others in the shortest possible time.
