In the wake of the New Voter’s Register brouhaha, the Eminent Advisory Committee is set to meet stakeholders of the Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) and the Electoral Commission (EC) on the issue.
In a press release issued and signed by the Acting Director, Public Relations of the Electoral Commission (EC), Mrs. Sylvia Andoh copied to the www.thenewindependentonline.com indicated that, the meeting scheduled for Thursday, 30th January, 2020 will seek to engage with the Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) on the Electoral Commission plan to compile a new Voter’s Register ahead of the December Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
Since Electoral Commission made its intention to compile a new Voter’s Register ahead of the elections, opposition parties and other stakeholders has resisted and held series of demonstrations and press conferences to press down their message of Ghana not ready for a new Voter’s Register in an elections year.
