Mr. Francis Ansah Tawiah, National Communications Officer of All People’s Congress (APC) has cautioned the Electoral Commission of Ghana to abandon any rigging plans they have put in plans if any.
In a Press Release signed and copied to www.thenewindependentonline.com, Mr. Tawiah expressed worry and said, “Satan is not happy with Jean Mensah led EC for their unintelligent statement that persons with Voters’ ID Card still vote if their names are not on the register.”
Adding, “This is highly unacceptable. It is a clear indication of Jean Mensah led ECs lack of competence in electoral matters.”
The vibrant Communications Officer believes the statement has the tendency to create chaos and encourage over voting on the 7th of December, 2020.
The deputy chairperson of EC, Mr. Bossman Asare yesterday, in an answering to a question by the General Secretary of NPP Mr John Boadu said persons with Voters’ ID cards will be allowed to vote if their names are not on the register.
Representatives of Political parties and CSOs at meeting yesterday were stunned by the statement.
“Everyone knows EC officials and Polling agents at the voting centers can not check over voting properly if such statement stands especially now that the EC has been accused of printing ID Cards for people without the knowledge of the Political parties”, he explained.
“The EC needs to take all the necessary measures to restore its lost credibility before the elections for the sake of peace.” he concluded.
All Peoples’ Congress is one of the political party seeking for political power from the people of Ghana in the upcoming general Presidential and Parliamentary elections with Dr. Hassan Ayariga as the party flagbearer.
