SYND Applauds Youth4Climate Delegates from Ghana

The Strategic Youth Network for Development (SYND) Ghana has applauded Ms Patience Agyekum, the Climate Focal Point and Policy Team lead at SYND and Mr Daniel Awomnab, a Climate Reality leader and National Focal person for Team 54 Project International, as delegates for the Pre-COP conference to be held in Milan, Italy in September this year.

The Pre-COP 26 Summit All4Climate Italy 2021 is a ministerial meeting of major countries and signatories of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC).

It is traditionally held about a month before the COP Summit and aims to offer states,international organizations and NGOs the opportunity to have an informal discussion on the key aspects of the next Global Climate Summit, scheduled for early November in Glasgow.

SYND Applauds Youth4Climate Delegates from Ghana

This year’s COP Summit is jointly hosted by Italy and the United Kingdom(UK).

The Youth4Climate is a civil society event that will precede the Pre-COP Summit. It will bring together 400 young climate activists from across the world to put forward their ideas and concrete proposals on some of the most pressing issues on climate change. The conference will also give them the opportunity to participate in working groups to connect local experiences on climate change to international dimensions to advocate for the protection and survival of the planet.

In a recent press release signed by Mr. Chibeze Ezekiel, executive coordinator of SYND Ghana, a youth oriented non-governmental organization that promotes youth incusion in the governance of the Natural Resources and Environmental sector commended the two as outstanding workers stating that “SYND is confident that their participation in the conference will further build their capacity and help them to contribute to the climate change discourse in Ghana and beyond”.
