Fountain of Life Assemblies of God (FOLAG), Manhean Tigo Pole in the Ga West Municipal Assembly (GWMA), Greater Accra Region has launched its 15th anniversary with a call on members to fully appreciate God for His faithfulness in the life of the church

The church’s anniversary celebration which spans over a six-month period is
laden with very interesting programmes, including revival services, financial conferences, clean-up exercises among others.

Launching the anniversary at a colourful ceremony at the church’s auditorium on Sunday, September 12th, 2021, the Head Pastor of FOLAG, Reverend Felix Kwaku Delali Demebu, in an exhortation message christened; “Celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread” chosen from Exodus 12 vrs 17 and Exodus 48-51,” urged members to fully and actively participate in all the anniversary activities.

“This is because God has been faithful with Fountain of Life right from its inception,” he said.

In line with the above, he prophesied that “As we launch the 15th anniversary, I pray that you will never lack what it takes to celebrate it: you will not lack life, good health, salvation and money to celebrate it.”

He further admonished members to joyously participate in all the activities of the celebration, and that “God will bless you.”

According to Rev Demebu, the importance of memorials such as anniversary celebrations cannot be overemphasised, adding that “As a church, we need to cast our minds back to where the church started and where the Lord has brought us.”

He stressed that before Fountain of Life was planted, God had already predetermined it, hence the 25th March, 2007 [the day on which the church was born] was only in fulfillment of that predetermination by God.

“I want to encourage members that no matter how delayed they feel in life that God will surely fulfill His purpose in your lives.”

The Head Pastor of FOLAG intimated that God knows human beings and how easily they tend to forget.

Thus memorials help to bring into memory what God did for His people, he stated.

“Jesus had to die for us to have life, he said.

In the same vein, Rev Demebu indicated that somebody had to make loads of sacrifices for this church to be born, expressing that “we will never forget what they have done,” and added that “God richly bless Rev Collins.

“In deed I am a living testimony of how the church was born—not forgetting the very terrible roads during the formative years of the church,” he recounted.

What is more, the man of God noted that another importance of memorials as captured in the Bible was that they help draw people closer to God.

“The preparation of our launch has drawn several people closer to God and also made us more committed to God,” he testified.

The Registrar of the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Rev Collins L. Kodjoe, who was the Special Guest, and also the Pioneer-Pastor of FOLAG, said the story of the church was a testimony of God’s faithfulness, adding that “It also affirms the truism of the saying that great things have little beginnings.”

“The mustard seed that was planted almost 15 years ago, is what has germinated and grown into this glorious and formidable church. A church that remains a family and a home to all, where Christ reigns Supreme, and the undiluted Word of God is taught and preached but not peddled for profits.

…And for the growth of the church, no man takes the credit. For the church is the Lord’s and, as Paul would tell the church of Corinth, “What, after all, is Apolos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe – as the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted, Apolos watered it, but God made it grow. Therefore, to God alone be the glory,” he said.

While expressing appreciation to Rev Demebu and the Church Board for making him a part of the launch, Rev Kodjoe called on the members to continue to be supportive of the growth of the church.

“Let us all continue to do our best as partners through whom God will continue to build His church,” Rev Kodjoe urged.

Later in the evening on Sunday, the church members participated in various indoor games—ludo, draughts, playing cards and volley ball.

Interestingly, a volley ball contest between the Men’s Ministry and the Youth Ministry was won by the former.

The launch of FOLAG’s 15th anniversary adds to a catalogue of other interesting activities in the coming months, which will be climaxed by anniversary day proper—March 25th, 2022.

About FOLAG:

Fountain of Life Assemblies of God was started on Sunday, March 25th, 2007, with three adults and two children under four canopies on a plot of land close to its present location—Manhean Tigo Pole.

The first sermon was delivered by Reverend Anthony Amapah-Williams, who is currently the Head Pastor of Odorkor Official Town Assemblies of God.

At the time, Reverend Ampah-Williams shared the FOLAG pulpit with Student Pastor Collins L. Kodjoe.

That spanned over a period of nine months until Rev. Kodjoe graduated from the Bible College on December 15th, 2007, and was made the substantive Pastor of Fountain of Life Assemblies of God.

In 2009, the church moved from its under-the-canopy structure to an enclosed structure now being used by the Children Service. However, in 2017, the church moved to its current building which is undergoing construction.
