Ghanaians are sitting on jagged edge as the Black Stars get ready to face Gabon in the second Group C game of 2021 AFCON on Friday.
The Black Stars suffered a slim defeat in their opening clash to North Africans, Morocco at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium on Monday and will need to beat the Panthers to keep their round 16 qualification chances alive.
Gabon on the hand got their campaign to an impressive start with a 1-0 victory over debutants, Comoros.
One person who knows Ghana now has an arduous task against Gabon is winger, Joseph Paintsil.
The RKC Genk wide man was the brightest spot in the Black Stars defeat to Morocco and he has already turned attention towards the next game.
He tweeted after Ghana’s loss:
Anger forward, Soufiane Boufal’s late strike was enough to secure all three opening points for Morocco over the Black Stars.
Ghana have won the title four times, three behind Egypt and one behind hosts Cameroon with the last being 40 years ago in Libya.
They have come close to winning the title twice but lost 1-0 in the 2010 finals to Egypt in Angola and 9-8 on penalty shootouts to West African neighbors, Ivory Coast five years later in Equatorial Guinea.
