Accra Great Olympics returned to winning ways in week 16 derby against city rivals, Hearts of Oak Oak.
Great Olympics, two time Ghana champions, stunned the 21 time winners by a solitary strike at the Accra Sports Stadium courtesy Abdul Razak Yusif’s perfect finish on the 30th minute.
The “Dade Boys” claimed the bragging rights of the regional derby much to the excitement of the vociferous fans.
Great Olympics head coach Annor Walker said: “I told you earlier on before the game that, we lost our match against Kotoko last Friday, so we are coming back here to make amends.
“So we are here, it’s an away match and we are here to make amends, and we wanted to win this match for people to see that we are not here to joke but here to win.
“They [Hearts] are a team that play free flowing football so i planned for them and I decided we are not going to walk in the game.
“We will not give them room to play, we give them high pressing immediately they get the ball and that’s exactly what my boys did nd we have won this match.” Annor Walker told StarTimes.
The win takes Great Olympics into 5th on the league table with 24 points 16 matches. They have clocked six wins, seven draws and three losses this season and will next host strugglers, Elmina Sharks in Accra on Sunday, February 13.
