Accra Great Olympics will look to continue the winning streak when they play at home on Sunday, February 13.
The “Dade Boys” host league strugglers, Elmina Sharks at the Accra Sports Stadium in the final game of the first round of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League.
Great Olympics are coming into the game from the backdrop of a 1-0 win over city rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Abdul Razak Yusif’s 30th minute strike was enough separate the two time league champions from the defending and the 21 time champions.
Head coach of Great Olympics, Annor Walker was ecstatic after putting the win past millennium champions at the Accra Sports Stadium.
“I told you earlier on before the game that, we lost our match against Kotoko last Friday, so we are coming back here to make amends.
“So we are here, it’s an away match and we are here to make amends, and we wanted to win this match for people to see that we are not here to joke but here to win.
“They [Hearts] are a team that play free flowing football so i planned for them and I decided we are not going to walk in the game.
“We will not give them room to play, we give them high pressing immediately they get the ball and that’s exactly what my boys did nd we have won this match.” Annor Walker told StarTimes.
Great Olympics have not disappointed this term following a bright start to the season. They have collected 25 points from 16 matches and seated 7th on the league table.
Elmina Sharks on the other hand are coming into the game in Accra after a stinging 2-1 win over Asante Kotoko at the Nduom Stadium in week 16.
They sit bottom of the league table with three wins, two draws and as many as 11 losses this season. They have 11 points as a result and will look to rejuvenate under new coach, Kobina Amissah.
