Berekum Chelsea’s veteran striker, Kofi Owusu is looking forward to a better performance in the second round of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League.
The 30-year-old has been a mainstay for the former Ghana Premier League champions since joining them on a free transfer in the 2019/20 season.
He was almost home and dry with the Bibires against Bechem United at the Golden City Park when he scored the opener after a perfect clock-wise swivel on the 31st minute.
They were stunned with the equalizer on the 74th minute after Yaw Annor connected a header from Augustine Okrah’s cross to their last game of the first round at 1-1.
Kofi Owusu said: “Now that the first round has ended, we shall correct our past mistakes so that we don’t repeat them in the second round,” Kofi Owusu told StarTimes.
Owusu has a rich experience from home and the continent having previously played for Ghana Premier League sides, AshantiGold, Aduana Stars and King Faisal.
His stint outside Ghana has taken him to Aswan Sporting Club in Egypt where he spent a season before returning home to join AshantiGold. Berekum Chelsea now have 22 points from 17 games and sit on the 9th spot.
