King Welentsi III Foundation supports youth with working capital and entrepreneurship tools

As part of the effort to build the capacity of the youth in the Nungua community, the King Welentsi III Foundation has supported eleven (11) of the youth with working items to embark on entrepreneurship drives to enable them to become self-independent in their working endeavours.

The items worth Ghc50,000 include sewing machines, and other related entrepreneurship materials and working tools.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the King Welentsi III Foundation, Mr. Eric Bortey Djenge said the gesture is an initiative of King Prof. Odaifio Welentsi III, Paramount Chief and President of the Nungua Traditional Council.

According to him, the move is part of the effort by the traditional authorities to engage the youth in hands-on skills and other entrepreneurial jobs, particularly in the TVET space.

He advised them to be serious and be committed to their chosen field of profession saying their destiny lies in their hands hence they must take advantage of the opportunity offered to them.

For his part, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Platinum Limo Rentals, Mr. Nii Boi Abbey said the support from the Foundation has put an end to the challenges of going around and searching for jobs and has also lifted the burden of parents’ expenditure on them, adding further that the support has given them the zeal to be self-independent in the job market.

According to him, by their dedication and commitment to work, they can also employ their peers adding, it is a systematic process of creating jobs as well as solving the unemployment challenge in the country.

He, therefore advised them to exhibit the culture of maintenance and handle the working materials with good care and again called on corporate bodies in the Nungua community to support the initiative as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Nii Boi Abbey expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the management of the Foundation for the brilliant initiative and pointed out that other communities should emulate the shining example of the foundation.

For her part, the Queen of Nungua Okpoi Gono, Her Royal Highness, Naa Adese Omanye Sane II advised the beneficiaries to take advantage of the project saying it will enable them to become self-independent in their respective jobs.

She, however, cautioned them to take good care of the working tools and urged them to practice maintenance culture to prolong the lifespan of the materials and the items and exhibit humility and respect to their trainers.
