According to Ing. Francis Addai-Nimoh, one of the Presidential hopefuls of the ruling party, the New Patriotic Party, (NPP) he is confident that, he will be part of the first five to be selected at the special delegates Congress slated for the 26th August, 2023.

To him, he possesses the qualities and is the right person to lead the party to victory in the 2024 general elections.

“2014 was my first time seeking to lead the NPP, another time I was described as the unknown and out of seven I came third so I am highly optimistic of coming out to be part of the first five to go for the main contest in November and to lead the party”.

Ing. Francis Addai-Nimoh made these remarks after he appeared before the vetting committee today, 6th July, 2023 at the party’s campaign office in Accra.

Answering questions on favoritism, he was of the view that, the ground rules which was set out by the National Council and being implemented through the Office of the General Secretary, in his opinion, has been smooth and doesn’t see any one being favored. Adding “well, I don’t know what the favor you’re talking about”.

“The party structure will not tell you how you should campaign, the party structure will not tell you how you should secure your votes, it is the responsibility of every individual candidate to have his strategy therefore, I have not seen any acts or issues that tend to favor one person at this stage”.

Concerning his chances, he indicated that, his focus is to get in touch with the grass roots with his message of redemption and hope, hence the need for a new face to lead the party to victory.

“Ing. Addai-Nimoh campaign is not ending today, is not ending tomorrow, now we are striving to secure the vote of the grass root at the remotest part of the country, that is what we are the committed to”, he emphasized.

To the media, he urged them to provide fair media coverage adding “Let us see this contest as a free contest, it is not a contest for me to create enemies”.
