13th African Games: Ghana’s Joseph Paul Amoah wins Gold in Men’s 200m Finals

Ghana’s 200m record holder Joseph Paul Amoah has emerged victorious in the Men’s 200m finals at the ongoing 13th African Games, held at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, Accra Ghana today, 22nd March,2024.

In the Men’s 200m race, Ghana’s Joseph Paul Amoah clinched the gold medal making a time of 20.70 seconds, Bongogue Claude Emmanuel of Cameroon won the silver medal making a time of 20.74 seconds and Ekanam Consider Emmanuel of Nigeria won the bronze medal making a time of 20.80 seconds.

The Joseph Paul Amoah victory in the men’s 200m adds to Ghana’s success earlier in the day, with the women’s hockey team triumphing over Nigeria in the final.

Additionally, William Amponsah contributed to Ghana’s medal tally by securing a silver medal in the Marathon event.

Joseph Paul Amoah’s outstanding performance has not only secured him a well-deserved gold medal but has also further solidified his status as one of Ghana’s best athletes on the international stage.
