Following the impeachment of Philip Shaibu from the post of Deputy Governor of Edo State, Omobayo Marvellous Godwin has been installed as his successor.
The 38-year-old has been sworn in by Chief Judge of the state, Justice Daniel Okungbowa at the state House of Assembly.
The Ibillo, Akoko-Edo local government Area native in his speech vowed to give his maximum support to the governor on his second term ambition.
He has a B.Eng. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and an MSc in Public Administration from the University of Benin (UNIBEN).
Omobayo contested as the Labour Party candidate for the Federal House of Representatives seat in Akoko-Edo Federal Constituency during the 2023 general elections.
The newly installed deputy governor is a well-known and revered politician in his constituency where he has built a solid relationship with his constituents, he has also engaged in several infrastructural and poverty alleviation projects in his Local Government.
