As entrepreneurship plays a critical role in shaping the socioeconomic development of the country, Maxwell Investment Group, one of the pioneers in youth entrepreneurship, believes that the engagement of young people in tertiary institutions to harness their entrepreneurship skills and knowledge is of importance to the nation’s building and development.

Against this background, Maxwell Investment Group, through the Africa School of Entrepreneurship, has instituted the initiative, ‘Entrepreneur In You’, in various tertiary institutions such as the Ghana Communications & Technology University (GCTU), University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), etc.

To harness entrepreneurship skills and knowledge, The President of the Business School of Ghana Communications & Technology University, Mr Felix Kwadwo Nti, a final student, has shared his thoughts on the ‘Entrepreneur In You’ initiative by the Maxwell Investment Group.

According to the Business School President, collaboration with Maxwell Investment Group can empower student entrepreneurs by providing resources and support.

He believes that, collaboration will strengthen as well as provide numerous opportunities and platforms for student entrepreneurs to showcase their abilities, ideas and proposals that seek to provide solutions to the multiple challenges in the business sector.

However, Mr. Nti revealed that major challenges facing student entrepreneurs include the need for more funding, mentorship and networking platforms for student entrepreneurs to harness their skills and potential.

Therefore he was of the view that the initiative ‘Entrepreneur In You’ has come at the right time to leverage the skills, abilities and potentials of student entrepreneurs across the numerous tertiary institutions across the country.

He further added that the ‘Entrepreneur In You’ initiative will also pave the way for student entrepreneurs to have access to a pool of resources to harness these potential ideas, skills and abilities. This rings especially true when the biggest partner to the initiative yet is Ghana’s largest indigenous bank, GCB Bank PLC.

To him, access to resources and mentorship is crucial, and the ‘Entrepreneur In You’ initiative, he believes, should facilitate funding, mentorship, and networking opportunities for student entrepreneurs.

The Business School President was full of praise for Dr Maxwell Ampong, CEO of  Maxwell Investments Group. He emphasised that the efforts of Dr. Ampong and the ‘Entrepreneur In You’ initiative are commendable. “As a student leader, I will promote the initiative and encourage participation”, he reiterated.

Mr. Nti acknowledged that he envisions a vibrant entrepreneurial community fostering innovation and creativity. He stresses that the ‘Entrepreneur In You’ initiative will engage students through workshops, seminars, and events showcasing entrepreneurship benefits and resources.

Touching on how he balances his academic responsibilities with his role as a student leader and his entrepreneurship pursuits, Mr. Felix Kwadwo Nti revealed that he prioritises tasks, manages time effectively, and delegates responsibilities, therefore advising fellow students to stay organised and focused.

Regarding collaborations between student organisations and external entities like Maxwell Investment Group, the Business School President believes such collaboration can provide resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities, enhancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

For the long-term impact of the ‘Entrepreneur In You’ initiative on Ghana Communications & Technology University, Mr. Felix Kwadwo Nti expects a long-term impact of fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, and job creation on campus.

In conclusion, he urged students to embrace entrepreneurship, be innovative, and take calculated risks to achieve success.

The “Entrepreneur In You” Campus Tour event, sponsored by GCB Bank PLC, comes off on June 14th 2024 at the Great Hall of KNUST.
