In a surprising turn of events, a land dispute has taken a contentious twist, within Agbazo Obom community in the Ga South Municipality, with reports of unauthorized activity on a disputed 1229.60 acre land.

Nii Kweifio II, Dzaasetse of Ayikai Doblo and Principal Elder of the Nii Kwame Akrashie Denteh Family, addressed members of the media to shed light on the events.

According to him, a contractor, Samuel Atsu Forson popularly known as Alornyor,  had been in discussions with the family regarding the land usage for sand winning.

However, Nii Kweifio II stressed that the land in question is embroiled in a legal battle with Golden Exotics Farms; this was made known to Samuel Atsu Forson, hence the family insisted of concluding the court matters before agreeing to hand over the land for any activity.

Despite explicit warnings and ongoing litigation, the contractor, Samuel Atsu Forson allegedly began work on the site early Friday June 14, 2024 morning, prompting Nii Kwame Akrashie Denteh family members to take immediate action.

“We want to make it emphatically clear that we have never flouted court processes or given any instructions for unauthorized activity on the land,”  Nii Kweifio II stated firmly.

When pressed for details on the contractor’s authority,  Nii Kweifio II reiterated that no formal agreements were made, and all discussions were contingent on the resolution of the court case.

Furthermore, Nii Sakaa Odupong III, Mankralo of Sempe Odupong and Principal Elder of the Nii Kwame Akrashie Denteh family confirmed reports of gunfire at the site, indicating potential involvement of land guards.

As the situation unfolds, questions linger about the contractor’s motivations and the involvement of external parties.

Authorities have been alerted, and investigations are underway to ascertain the full extent of the situation.

However, information received indicated that  Samuel Atsu Forson allegedly claimed he is superior and has authority over even the IGP and that not even the President can stop him from working on the land.
