Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta, a former Minister of Finance in the Akufo-Addo administration, will be a candidate for jail in the next government of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Ken Ofori-Atta will be jailed in connection with Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, a former Minister of Health also under same regime.

A Deputy Communications Officer of the NDC, Mustapha Foyo Gbande, who is making the comments says the supposed economic hardship the government claims Ghana is facing is not true.

Rather, he alleges the funds have been stolen by appointees of the administration, indicating the next NDC government’s resolve to prosecute those responsible.

Mr. Gbande, speaking on Yen Nsempa on Onua FM Tuesday, November 12, 2024, revealed that his party has investigated some 58 persons in the Akufo-Addo administration who will be put to jail once the NDC takes over in 2025.

During his comments, he pointed out that Agyeman-Manu has already been cited by the Auditor-General and would not need any further investigations to be prosecuted over the Sputnik-V scandal, adding that Ghanaians will rise against Mahama if he does not prosecute Ofori-Atta.

He stated that even if the former Finance Minister is not alive by the time the NDC takes over, his corpse will be prosecuted to retribute Ghanaians for the harm he has caused the nation.

“As for Ken Ofori-Atta even if he dies we’ll jail him. If President Mahama doesn’t jail Ken Ofori-Atta, Ghanaians will rise up against him. Ken Ofori-Atta, let him die, his dead body will be jailed, including 58 of them. So, they should stop this cock and bull story of ‘our economy has challenges’, they have stolen the money and Nana Addo has supervised same,” he indicated.
