The National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has asked Ghanaians to be ready to embrace the shock of their lives with the party’s performance in the Ashanti region come December.
The private legal practitioner says residents of the region are fed up with the poor administration of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), saying the NDC is going to amass the largest votes it has ever obtained in the region.
In 2020, the NPP obtained over 1.7 million votes in the region, with the NDC getting a little over 650,000.
Sammy Gyamfi, speaking with Captain Smart on Onua TV’s morning show, Maakye, Wednesday, November 20, 2024, stated that although the region is the stronghold of the NPP, the NDC will make great strides in the region in December.
“Things are changing. I won’t say that the Ashanti region now is for the NDC. Ashanti region is still the NPP stronghold but I’m sure that this time around, the results that will come from Ashanti region will shock the entire nation and the world. This year, the NDC will get our best ever results in the Ashanti region and the NPP will get its worst ever results,” he stated.
