Hiroshi Yoshimoto, Ambassador of Japan to Ghana, has shared valuable insights into Japan’s educational system, highlighting its unique approach to holistic development and community involvement.

Speaking at a film screening event held at the University of Ghana on Thursday, 20th March, 2025 for students of University of Tokyo and University of Ghana, Ambassador Yoshimoto emphasized that Japan’s education system focuses on developing not only academic skills but also a strong sense of responsibility, teamwork, and community spirit.

“Education in Japan is aimed at developing not only solid academic skills but also a rich mind and a healthy body,” Ambassador Yoshimoto explained.
He further added “We believe that every part of school life and activities has educational significance.”
The ambassador highlighted several key features of Japan’s educational system, including its emphasis on holistic development, community involvement, and teacher training.
According to him, Japanese schools place a strong emphasis on extracurricular activities, such as sports, music, and art, which are seen as essential for developing well-rounded individuals.
