Vivo Energy Ghana, the marketer and distributor of Shell-branded fuels and lubricants, has appointed Christian Li as its new Managing Director.
Mr. Li, a Mauritian citizen, brings nearly 30 years of experience in general management, business development, and sales and marketing across more than 20 African countries.
His appointment follows the passing of former Managing Director, Jean-Michel Arlandis.
Christian Li has a strong history of success in the energy sector.
Since 2022, he has served as Head of International Business for Engen, where he managed and supported Engen’s international portfolio, including operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Namibia, Botswana, Mauritius, Lesotho, and Eswatini.
Before his role at Engen, Christian Li was the Managing Director for Engen Namibia, where he was recognized among the top 10 executives for three consecutive years.
He has also held leadership positions in South Africa, Mauritius, and the Republic of Congo.
Before joining Engen Mauritius in 2011, Christian spent nearly eight years with Chevron.
In announcing his appointment, Franck Konan-Yahaut, Vivo Energy Executive Vice President for West and Central Africa, expressed confidence in Christian’s ability to lead the team, stating, “Christian brings a wealth of knowledge, a commitment to excellence, and a focus on continuous improvement.
He will be an invaluable addition to our team.”
As the new Managing Director, Christian Li is prepared to drive innovation and excellence in the downstream business.
“Having worked in various capacities across multiple sectors, I am optimistic that we can elevate our already robust business to new heights,” he remarked.
