Ghana Welcomes Russian Investment in Tourism

The Honorable Abla Dzifa Gomashie has received a delegation from the Russian Federation, led by Mr. Viktor Kolikov, in a visit aimed at enhancing tourism relations between Ghana and Russia.

This three-member team engaged with Ghana’s Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts on April 28, 2025, at the Ministry’s office to discuss potential collaborative efforts in the tourism sector.

The delegation, consisting of private sector representatives, expressed a keen interest in forming partnerships with stakeholders in Ghana’s tourism industry to foster mutual development.

They praised Ghana’s growing reputation as a cultural and heritage tourism destination and highlighted the potential for increasing the number of Russian tourists through cooperative initiatives and focused marketing strategies. In her welcoming remarks,

Hon. Gomashie reaffirmed Ghana’s dedication to establishing strategic partnerships that facilitate international tourism and cultural exchanges.

She also shared insights into the Ministry’s current projects aimed at diversifying Ghana’s tourism offerings, emphasizing the necessity for investment in infrastructure and digital marketing to boost the sector’s competitiveness.

Mr. Divine K. Owusu-Ansah, the Director for Culture and Creative Arts at the Ministry, was also present and stressed the significance of collaborations within the creative industry as a vital component of Ghana’s tourism strategy.

This visit represents a significant advancement in strengthening the tourism and cultural diplomatic ties between Ghana and Russia.
