A Historic Cake-Cutting Moment
The emotional highlight of the launch was the cutting of a specially designed 10th Anniversary cake, symbolizing WIM Ghana’s growth, resilience, and collective achievements since its establishment in 2015.
Led by President Mrs. Georgette B. Sakyi-Addo and joined by the High Commissioner of Australia to Ghana, Bernice Owen-Jones, along with industry executives, founding members, and WIM members, the cake-cutting was a unifying gesture of gratitude, celebration, and forward-looking optimism.
“We are not just cutting a cake,” said the president. “We are celebrating ten years of bold decisions, unwavering advocacy, and transformative partnerships.
This is a tribute to every woman who dared to lead, every girl who found a mentor, and every community that saw hope through our work.”
Reflections and Recognition
Attendees expressed their appreciation for WIM Ghana’s efforts in promoting gender mainstreaming within the mining sector. They acknowledged the organization’s pivotal role in shaping national discourse on inclusivity and in providing platforms for mentorship, training, and leadership development for hundreds of women and girls across the country.
“WIM Ghana is not only raising voices; it is raising standards.”
