Accra, June 16, 2025 – Vivo Energy Ghana, the Shell Licensee, today commemorated World Environment Day by encouraging customers to adopt sustainable habits and reduce plastic use.

In a bid to raise awareness about the harmful impact of plastic waste on the environment, the company distributed reusable glass bottles to customers at the Airport Shell service station in Accra.

According to Vivo Energy Ghana’s Managing Director, Mr. Christian Li, the initiative is part of the company’s broader environmental campaign to educate the public on the dangers of plastic pollution and promote simple, practical solutions that individuals can adopt.

“Our purpose here today is together–with you to make a conscious decision to reduce plastic use, starting with this reusable bottle,” Mr. Li said.

The initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production and Goal 13: Climate Action.
