Vivo Energy Ghana PLC distributor and marketer of Shell-branded fuels and lubricants has launched the She’ll Fix campaign, a ground-breaking initiative to equip women with essential car maintenance and road safety skills.

The program, titled “She’ll Fix,” was unveiled at the Airport Shell filling station in Accra.

Its aim is to address the common issue of women panicking when their cars break down or encounter problems on the road.

According to Shirley Tony Kum, Corporate Communications Manager at Vivo Energy Ghana, many women lack the knowledge and skills to maintain their vehicles, which often leads to anxiety and reliance on others when issues arise.

“Most of the time when women’s cars break down on the road or there’s an issue, the first instinct is to panic or call the mechanic or their husbands,” she said.

The program seeks to empower female drivers across the country by teaching them skills to maintain their vehicles and navigate the roads safely.

It includes car maintenance training where women will learn about lubrication, engine oil, coolant, and basic safety checks to help them identify issues before contacting a mechanic.

Additionally, experts will provide guidance on road safety, while police officers will educate participants about driver responsibilities and interactions with law enforcement.

Shirley Tony Kum also announced that the program will be expanded across the country, starting with Accra and Kumasi, and expanding to the Northern Region next year.

She mentioned that over 200 participants attended the first session, and the program was broadcast to reach an even wider audience.

Christian Li, the Managing Director of Vivo Energy Ghana, emphasized the company’s commitment to empowering women and promoting road safety.

“This program is important because we care about women, respect them, and want them to feel safe at all times, ensuring they are not left stranded,” he said.

This initiative demonstrates Vivo Energy Ghana’s dedication to community development and women’s empowerment.

By providing women with practical skills and knowledge, the program aims to promote road safety and independence.

The company plans to continuously improve the program to ensure it remains practical and effective.

The Vivo Energy Ghana initiative represents a significant step toward enhancing road safety and empowering women in Ghana.

By equipping them with essential car maintenance and road safety skills, the program aims to build confidence and independence, ultimately contributing to a safer and more empowered community.
