Julius Neequaye Kotey, CEO of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), has been commended for empowering Ghanaians through job creation. Kotey, also known as “Logass” or the “Grassroots Chief of Staff,” has recruited over 1,000 contract staff to work at new DVLA stations, providing opportunities for many individuals.

This move has been seen as a significant step in supporting the local community and promoting economic growth. Kotey’s leadership has been praised for delivering results and prioritizing the needs of the grassroots population. A supporter noted, “I’m not one to make excuses for people, but we must speak the truth when we see it,” highlighting Kotey’s achievements.

Under his tenure, the DVLA has reported a 39% increase in revenue in 2025, attributed to innovative policies implemented by the authority. The DVLA has launched initiatives such as the National Community Outreach program, aimed at improving public access to services and promoting road safety.

Kotey’s appointment as CEO in January 2025 was seen as a strategic move to enhance efficiency and compliance within Ghana’s transport sector. His experience in public policy, compliance, and driver licensing systems has been instrumental in driving positive change at the DVLA.

Some of the key initiatives implemented by Kotey include recruiting over 1,000 contract staff, launching the National Community Outreach program, and implementing innovative policies to increase revenue and promote road safety.

Kotey’s approach to job creation and community empowerment has been praised, with calls for other government agencies to replicate his strategies. “These are the kind of leaders who deserve our appreciation and prayers,” said a supporter, commending Kotey’s efforts to prioritize the needs of the grassroots population.

The DVLA’s achievements under Kotey’s leadership demonstrate the power of effective leadership and innovative thinking in driving positive change and promoting economic growth.
