GH¢350–400 for Special Postings: National Service Personnel Demand Answers

News Desk

National Service personnel are reportedly facing uncertainty, frustration and financial losses after paying between GH¢350 and GH¢400 to a man identified as Fredrick Laryea-Akuffo for assistance with special postings for the 2026/2027 service year.

According to information provided by affected personnel, several of them paid the money in anticipation of receiving assistance to secure their preferred places of posting. However, some reportedly remain without the service they paid for despite making repeated calls to Fredrick to follow up on their requests.

The situation has become more worrying as several institutions are reportedly reaching capacity, leaving personnel who have yet to receive their expected postings uncertain about where they will undertake their mandatory national service.

Affected personnel say they are frustrated by the delays and the uncertainty surrounding their placements. Their concerns have deepened over the alleged failure to refund their money despite the services not being rendered.

The personnel are now seeking either the fulfilment of the promised posting arrangements or the return of their money since Fredrick Laryea-Akuffo claims to be a staff of the National Service Authority head office.

The development raises concerns about the vulnerability of prospective national service personnel who pay individuals for assistance with postings, particularly when the arrangements do not produce the expected results.

It also highlights the need for personnel to verify posting procedures through official channels and for the relevant authorities to clarify the approved processes for requesting changes to assigned places of service.

Fredrick’s response to the allegations, including the reasons for the reported delays and the status of refund requests, was not available at the time of writing.

The National Service Authority’s response to the concerns has also not been established.

Affected personnel are calling for a timely resolution to prevent further financial losses and ensure that those who paid for services they did not receive are not left stranded as institutions fill their available slots.
