Dzifa Abla Gomashie, a former Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, has declared her intention to contest the National Democratic Congress’ Parliamentary primaries in the Ketu-South constituency in the Volta Region.
Confirming her MP ambitions on one of the well listened entertainment radio station, Okay FM’s ‘Best Entertainment Show’, she described the seat as one that is divinely made for her.
Explaining that both her parents are from Ketu contrary to speculations adding that, she lives both in Accra and Anglo where she is the queenmother in charge of protocol in the Aflao Traditional Area called Mamma Dzramedo
She also confirmed of picking up forms and filling for the Member of Parliament (MP) seat of Ketu South on the radio show.
Indicating that upon consultations she Madam Dzifa Abla Gomashie have taken a resolute decision to offer herself as a willing and able candidate for the Ketu-South Parliamentary Seat on the ticket of the NDC stressing “this is a divine decision and a divine decision that I am a woman, because women have not represented us in Parliament in constituencies along the coast of Southern Volta.”
Therefore pleaded with the delegates to choose her as the best woman for the job and promised to embrace gender development and affirmative action as critical requirements for societal advancement.
To her, she believes her election to Parliament would inspire many young women and young people as she continued her human development mission.
Her decision to contest is as a result of the incumbent and former Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey declining to contest the seat in the upcoming parliamentary elections in tge year 2020.
