Manhyia South delegates of the ruling party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have reiterated their unflinching support for the Vice President of the Republic De. Bawumia in his bid to be the party’s flagbearer for the 2024 Presidential & Parliamentary elections.

According to the Manhyia delegates, Dr. Bawumia is poised to lead the party to make history in our country’s electoral politics and democracy.

This was disclosed on the Minister for Energy, Hon. Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s Facebook wall page when the Vice President, Dr. Bawumia visited his Constituency as he begins his Ashanti region tour to canvass for votes in the upcoming party presidential primaries to elect a flagbearer.

According to him, “It was all joy and ecstasy as NPP delegates of Manhyia South, my beloved constituency, met His Excellency the Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia at the Apostolic Church, Ash Town, earlier this EVENING”.

The Energy Minister who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Constituency averred that His Excellency the Vice President, in line with the democratic tenets of the party, came to make a case for why delegates must rally behind him ahead of the Special Electoral College Elections in August and ultimately, the National Congress in November this year.

“In my remarks, I acknowledged the sterling qualities, experience, and sacrifices of Dr. Bawumia for our party which makes him our best foot in the quest at clinching a 3rd term electoral victory in 2024 which has become known in our party parlance as “Breaking the 8”.

He indicated that delegates in Manhyia South, believe that, he has served well as Vice President, defending the programmes and policies of the NPP government, and remains the only existential threat to the electoral fortunes of John Mahama and the NDC, of all the candidates vying for the flagbearership slot.

He concluded by wishing Dr. Bawumia well, as he campaigns across the 47 constituencies of the Ashanti region.
