The Football4Girls initiative recently launched in basic schools across Sunyani, with a ceremony held at the Ridge Experimental Cluster of Schools.

The project, a collaboration between the Ghana Football Association’s Technical Directorate and the Ghana Education Service, aims to empower girls in basic schools to play football confidently and pursue their goals without limitation.

Key stakeholders attending the event included Osei Koranteng, the Regional Physical Education Coordinator, Stephen Kyeremeh Ahenkang, the Sunyani Municipal Physical Education Coordinator, and Edwin-Nancy Glover, the Women’s Committee Chairperson for the Brong Ahafo Regional Football Association.

Headteachers, teachers, and staff from selected schools in the Sunyani Municipality were also present.

The launch featured physical exercises and informative sessions to familiarize participants with the project’s objectives.

The Football4Girls project seeks to uncover hidden talents in schools, offering opportunities for girls to participate in football development from a young age.

In addition, Jennifer Amankwaa Sarpong, Head of Women’s Football Development, and representatives from the Regional Football Association met with the Ghana Education Service in Sunyani to outline a strategy aimed at promoting and developing women’s football in the Brong Ahafo Region.
