Mansah Williams, a participant at the Africa Prosperity Dialogues 2025, has emphasized the need for African Continental Free Trade Area (AFCFTA) member states to prioritize high-impact projects to drive economic growth and reduce poverty.

Speaking on the topic “PPPs as a driver for the actualisation of the afcfta,” Williams stressed that investments should be channeled into providing infrastructure that enhances economic growth and ultimately reduces poverty on the continent.

According to her “The focus should be on high-impact projects by member states. such projects open up markets for member states, create employment avenues and opportunities with the ultimate goal of reducing poverty.”

Williams identified roads, railways, ports, and digital infrastructure as key areas of focus, noting that these projects are essential for facilitating the free movement of goods and services across the continent.

She also urged the private sector to beef up their capacities to take up such projects, emphasizing that cities like durban, mombasa, lagos, and tema require improved road and railway networks to modernize and facilitate trade amongst member countries.
