MDF Reaffirms Commitment to Responsible Mineral Revenue Allocation on May Day

As today 1st May, marks Workers’ Day, the Administrator of Minerals Development Fund  (MDF) Dr. Hanna Louisa Bisiw-Kotei has conveyed her congratulations and solidarity to all diligent individuals throughout Ghana, particularly those engaged in the mining and extractive industries.

“Today, we pay tribute to the unwavering commitment, sacrifices, and resilience of workers whose hard work continues to fuel our economy and foster national progress”, she acknowledged.

This was contained in a goodwill statement to commemorate this year May Day celebration across the country.

She noted that, the Minerals Development Fund acknowledge the essential contribution of labor in ensuring that the advantages of Ghana’s mineral resources are fairly distributed and utilized to enhance the lives of individuals and communities.

“We are dedicated to upholding transparency, accountability, and sustainable development, adhering to the principle that the true worth of our natural resources is only realized when the populace benefits directly”.

According to her , the MDF will persist in its collaboration with traditional leaders, mining enterprises, and our key partners to guarantee the responsible allocation of mineral revenues in accordance with the Fund’s mandate as outlined in the Minerals Development Fund Act, 2016 (Act 912).

“As we commemorate this significant day, let us strive to work collectively with the government, employers, employees, and communities to create a more equitable, secure, and inclusive working environment for everyone”, she reiterated.
