The Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Hon. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has urged beneficiaries of the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) program to utilize the grant to support their children’s education.
Speaking at the initial disbursement of the grant at the Weija Leprosarium, Hon. Lartey emphasized that while the grant may not be large, it is sufficient to help cover educational expenses for their children.
She reassured the beneficiaries that the distribution of funds is conducted fairly and transparently.
The Minister announced that there will be an increase in grant amounts, with specific increments based on household size.

The new grant amounts are as follows:
-1-2 household members: Increased from GH¢256 to GH¢320 and from GH¢304 to GH¢380, respectively
– 3 household members: Increased to GH¢440 from GH¢352
– 4 or more household members: Increased to GH¢530 from GH¢440
These increased grant amounts are intended to provide greater support to beneficiaries, enabling them to better meet their needs and those of their dependents.
Hon. Lartey expressed the government’s commitment to ensuring that LEAP Grant disbursements are made fairly and transparently.
She assured beneficiaries that the government is dedicated to supporting those in need and that the LEAP program is designed to empower vulnerable households and enhance their well-being.
