Shatta Wale is an attention seeker, doesn’t know his limits-Okraku Mantey

President of the Creative Arts Council, Mark Okraku Mantey, has called dancehall artiste an attention seeker who does not care about the effects of his actions.
His comments come after the camps of Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy got into a fight on the stage of the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
Shatta Wale has come out to say he was only going to congratulate Stonebwoy and had no bad intentions.
However, Mark Okraku Mantey has said the artiste had no clue what he was going to do when he stood up but only wanted to call attention to himself “irrespective of the environment, the repercussions and other people’s feelings.”

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, he explained if Shatta Wale wanted to congratulate Stonebwoy for winning the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year he could have made the organisers be in the know.

That is why it is called a program, everything is orchestrated. If you decide to go and congratulate someone, let the producers be in the know that ‘in case of whatever, this is what I will like to do’,” he told Andy Dosty, host of the show.
Mr Okraku Mantey said he thought Shatta Wale would grab the microphone and tell the crowd he deserved that award like Kanye West did at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards when Taylor Swift won the Best Female Music Video.
According to him, if Shatta Wale had gone on the stage alone, no guard would have stopped him.
“He (Shatta Wale) plays too much and does not know his limits,” he added.
Mr Okraku Mantey said he is worried Shatta Wale would one day land in bigger trouble with his attitude.
Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale are in court for Offensive Conduct to Breaches of the Peace. The two have pleaded not guilty and will be in court again on June 20.
The two have also been banned from the VGMAs and stripped off all the awards they won on May 18.
Mr Okraku Mantey said, as a board member he is happy about the decision taken to ban and strip the artistes of the awards, explaining it will serve as a caution for others.
However, he stated, if the court case drags, the two artistes could lose their deals, dent their international image and affect the market for their music.
