The Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Hajia Alima Mahama has urged men both in Parliament and across the country to encourage women to get themselves involve in the politics.
Hajia Alima Mahama made these statement when she was contributing to a statement made on the floor of Parliament by Hon. Ras Mubarak, she called on women movement to go out and lobby for fellow women to be take up positions for the up coming Presidential and Parliamentary elections in 2020.
She also encourage political parties to put women on their party list to contest for elections.
Hajia Alima Mahama who is also the Member of Parliament(MP) for Nalerigu/Gambaga for activism for women movement to go the various political party offices to bring to bear their women who are doing well in national development issues.
“Let’s amplify our voices and make sure that we move towards the involvement of women in politics to help boost the country’s development” she stressed.
Hajia Alima Mahama urged government pass the Affirmative Action Bill into an act, just as other Bills have been treated in recent times.
