NPP Primaries: Boniface assure Constituents of continuous development

Constituents of Madina Constituency in the Greater Accra Region has been assured of continuous development in the constituency in the years ahead.

This assurance comes from the Incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) Hon. Alhaji Abubakar Boniface Saddique who is seeking for another year term on the ticket of the ruling party, New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming December general elections.

Hon. Alhaji Boniface who doubles up a Minister of State joins the likes of the Minister of Education and MP for Mahysia South Constituency; Mathew Opoku Prempeh and Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the MP for Suame Constituency, Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs in the Ashanti Region to be the sole candidates on the NPP’s ballot paper come primaries on April 25, 2020.

This is as a result of Mr Michael Kofi Mc-Kenzie, Alhaji Boniface’s contender announcing his decision to step down at the last hour of Thursday, 20th February, 2020 to allow him, Hon. Bonifae; incumbent MP of the constituency to go unopposed.

This decision is to consolidate the seat for the second time which was a no go area for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Mr Mc-Kenzie who is the immediate past Constituency Chairman of the party believes that, the incumbent MP has worked tremendously that, there is the need to support him to retain the seat for the party.

He therefore entreated hissupporters and fans to throw their weight behind Hon. Boniface as the fight to retain the Madina Constituency seat as well increase the party votes come December elections.

Meanwhile, on that same fateful Thursday, February 20, last day to file forms, the sitting MP, Hon. Alhaji Boniface Saddique accompanied by Awal Mohamed, the Public Relations Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), the National Nasara Coordinator of the party, Aziz Haruna Futa, and party faithfuls and supporters stormed the Constituency office after hours of float within some principal streets in Madina to submit his nomination forms for 25th April primaries.

Speaking to parked supporters at the Constituency office after submitting hi forms to the members of the Parliamentary Elections Committee (PEC) of the party assured them of continuous development in the constituency.

According to him, Madina has been benefitting from numerous roads constructions even before the year of roads was declared by the Finance Minister during the last budget statement to Parliament.

Citing some major roads like Pantang, Zongo Junction roads, Hannah-School- Melcom roads and Estate roads being constructed.

Furthermore, Madina he noted alone has eight storm drains under construction in areas like Redco, Ritz, KB, Adenta West among others in efforts to address the drainage system of the Constituency.

On education, Hon. Alhaji Boniface Saddique revealed that, over Seven Hundred students from Madina has been able to access higher education in the various tertiary institutions across the country under his leadership.

Adding that, numerals successes being achieved by the NPP continue to dazzle the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The Madina metropolis has a growing population in peri-urban settlements in  Accra and many of these people are not reached by the utility providers adding that these areas have been supported with Twenty mechanized borehole facilities to make life bearable for the people in these catchment areas of the metropolis.

He therefore reminded the rank and file of the party not to waver in their support for the sitting MPs as his colleague MPs have given the strongest assurance of winning their various primaries across the over One Hundred and Sixty Constituencies.

The Parliamentary Elections,Committee who received the Incumbent MP nomination forms at the party office consists of the Constituency Secretary, Dan Fosu, Constituency Chairman, Eric Nartey Yeboah, Foster Arthur, the Constituency Organizer, Mr. Manteau and Mrs. Yankey.

The Hon. Alahji Boniface Saddique therefore called on the rank and file of the party to trumpet the good works of the President His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his Vice President have done
