Let engage in door-to-door campaign to win December polls-Pablo

Written by ...

In their quest to wrestle power from the ruling party, New Patriotic Party (NPP), come December 7, 2020, supporters and sympathizers of the main opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been charged to engage in a door-to-door campaign.

This according to the National Youth Organizer of the party, Mr. George Opare Addo is to ensure that party wins 2020 general elections hands down.

Furthermore, will afford Ghanaians the opportunity to interact as well be informed of what the party manifesto, the ‘People’s Manifesto’ entails, hen e canvass for votes.

Mr. Opare Addo who is known in the political circles as Pablo was speaking at the Inauguration of the Women’s Working and Youth Working Committees of the Ablekuma North Constituency of the NDC in Accra.

“Today when you ask people about the performance of the current government, they say it’s bad”, he bemoaned.

Stressing “This is why the good works of the NDC must be told by all of you seated here and let me say here, the victory of the NDC must start with you”.

This he says can be achieved when supporters and sympathizers adopt all measures citing that of the Jehovah Witness evangelism style.

“Let’s go to house to house to campaign and tell Ghanaians that the NDC is the only Party that can rescue them from their present predicament” he stressed.

Victory he noted is staring at the NDC in the face but was quick to add that, this victory won’t come on asilver platter hence there is the need for NDC members to work hard and tirelessly to wrestle power from the ruling party, NPP come December 7, 2020.

Pablo further charged the Youth wing and the Women wing at the inauguration to combine their forces believing this can yield a great result for the party.

“Let me tell you that 60 to 70% of Ghana’s voter population is made up of youth and 54% of Ghana’s population is women and that today, we are witnessing it”, he noted.

The National Youth Organizer therefore admonished the youth wing of the party against complacency but rather “fight” hard until the NDC is declared winner in the general elections.

Mr. Opare Addo later revealed that the NDC’S “Speak Out” tour has commenced in earnest to solicit views from the general public adding that their first point of call was Western North where they met Chiefs and groups at Asempa neye and Sewhi Wiawso whom he said commended former President Mahama for the initiative.

Adding that, all of these initiatives adopted by the former President, John Dramani Mahama and the Party have shaken the NPP thereby forcing the EC to compile the new voter register to rig the elections, which the NDC will fiercely resist.

On the new voter register, he pointed out that, the party is till on it that “where ever we need to go, we’ve been there to make our case that Ghana does not need a new register”.

The NPP however he said is on a destructive mission citing what happened at the State of the Nation’s Address by the party parliamentarians as one of the many things they are using to resist it.

“The NDC is a law abiding Party so we will use all legitimate means to resist the voter’s register but if shove comes to push we will do the needful and resist the compilation of the voter’s register; and when that time comes, we will fall on you because we can’t allow the NPP to destroy Ghana” he stressed.

Mr. Opare Addo, the National Youth Organiser used the ocassion to appeal to Party members to let the past be in the past and remain united to secure victory for the NDC in the upcoming general elections this year.

Taking his turn to address the teeming crowd, the Former Ambassador to Egypt and Saudi Arabia, Mr. Sinare who inaugurated the two working Committees urged them to work tirelessly in order to bring the Party back to power.

Emphasizing that, the victory of the NDC in the constituency rests with them hence they must go all out and work hard in the interest of the Party and Ghana as a whole.

For him, the Former Mayor of Accra and MP for Ablekuma South Mr. Alfred OKoe Vanderpuye who graced the occasion called on party faithful to remain committed to the party’s fortunes.

Mrs. Winifred Ashelly Mensah, the Parliamentary Candidate pointed out that, the inauguration of these two working groups speaks if how ready and poised they are to clinched the seat as well the presidency come December, 2020.

For him, the Constituency Communications Officer Mr. Thomas Aryee acknowledged that, this is the beginning of good and better things to happen to the party ahead of the December polls stressing that, the constituency is poised for victory.
