The Rt. Rev. Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Aaron Mike Oquaye has asked the Clerk of Parliament to fumigate the entire parliament before parliament resumes sitting tomorrow.
This is in accordance to ensuring Parliament House is hygienic and virus free as the country has recorded seven 7 confirmed cases of the novel COVID-19.
Furthermore, he urged Members of Parliament(MPs) to observe standards and directives given by the World Health organization (WHO), as in sitting 1.5meters away from one another.
“We need to adhere to the global directives on Covid 19, and therefore urged that there should much spacing of seats in the chamber” Hon. Speaker indicated.
“Sitting arrangements in the chamber are not in accordance with the WHO standards; members of Parliament need to be protected”, he noted.
Therefore urged the leadership to act quickly to the call to fight against the Covid 19 pandemic.
