The Medical Doctor of Nsuaem Health Centre in the Western Region, Dr. Richie Raymond Akpoto has articulated that, nurses and health workers of the Nsueam Heath Centre are in dire need of Personal Protective Equipment’s (PPE’s).
These include Gun Thermometers, N95 face masks, Glove, Protective clothing, Goggles, Disposal aprons, Hand sanitizers, Veronica bucket and White Wellington boots.
Speaking in an interview, the Tarkwa Nsuaem District Director of the Ghana Heath Service, Mr. Emmanuel Affelkum appealed to individuals and organizations to support the health facilities with PPE’s.
He further stated that Coronavirus is a dangerous disease and spread easily through contacting, coughing, sneezing and handshaking.
However, the health workers have started screening people from Tetrem Police Barrier and other communities in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality.
So far, he said 9 suspected Covid-19 patients in the municipality tested negative out of total 13 samples sent to the Nokuchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research laboratory. Four (4) more results are pending and yet to be received.
Mr. Affelkum advised Ghanaians to adhere to the World Health Organization (WHO), Ghana Health Service (GHS) and Government directives.
He therefore charged the Security officers to be vigilant at the various Ghana boarders’ especially secret roots.
According to Ghana Health Service, Ghana has recorded 378 COVID-19 cases with (6) deaths.
