The Supreme Master Ching Hai International has donated an amount of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand United States Dollars (US$150,000) to the Ghana Red Cross Society as its contribution to the fight against novel, Coronavirus in Ghana.
The donation of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand United States Dollars (US$150,000) equivalent to Eight Hundred and Thirty Three Thousand, Three Hundred Ghana Cedis (GHc 833,300) is as a response to an appeal made by the Ghana Red Cross Society to organisations,corporate institutions as well individuals to enable them, Ghana Red Cross Society to support government’s effort to combat the pandemic, COVID-19 in the country.
The Ghana Red Cross Society, one of the largest humatarian organisation in the country is a member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) which was established by an Act of Parliament as an auxiliary to the government to provide relief to the suffering of most vulnerable in times of emergency.
Receiving the Cheque of US$150,000 from the Supreme Master Ching Hai International through its Local Branch here in Ghana at a ceremony at the headquarters of the Ghana Red Cross in Accra, the Excecutive Director of the Society, Mr. Gyimah-Akwafo thanked the Supreme Master for her kind gesture and her humatarain works across the globe.
He therefore assured the Country local representative of the Supreme Master International of making good use of this amount as Ghana Red Cross Society is committed and determined to compliment government efforts to reverse the spread of COVID-19 pandemic and its socioeconomic impact on the society.
“This amount of money would be put to the exact use it was meant for”, he assured the donors.
On their part, the Supreme Master Ching Hai International believes that, this amount would go a long way to help the course and mandate of the Ghana Red Cross Society across the country.
And assured the Society of the Supreme Master Ching Hai Prayers and Mercy from Heaven as they collectively work together to fight the novel, Coronavirus.
In a related development, an organisation that seeks to transform lives through innovation, Project Maji also donated some HandWashing Stands to aid the Red Corss Society fight against COVID-19.
These Handwashing stands would enable one to be able to wash his or her hands without touching the tap of the Veronica bucket, hence easy washing of hands via stepping on a feet panel that opens the tap for the flow of water.
