Elections 2020: ‘We will deliver the Presidency to you’- Haruna Iddrisu to Mahama

The Minority in Parliament strongly believes that, it will form the next majority in Parliament come December 7th 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

Based on this, the Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu has assured the flagbearer of the main opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama of a resounding victory.

“This is because currently, the Minority Caucus has a strong and formidable front in the legislature”, he claimed.

According to him, with unity, team spirit, committment, and determination, they will be able to secure majority seats in Parliament after this year’s upcoming Parliamentary elections on December 7th, 2020.



The Minority Leader gave these assurances at the long awaited launch of the NDC’s manifesto dubbed ‘ Peoples’ Manifesto’ for the 2020 elections on Monday, September 7, 2020 at the University of Professional Studies-Accra (UPSA).

“Today is a very solemn occasion for us but to assure His Excellency President John Mahama and the leadership of the party led by the National Chairman and General Secretary, that your parliamentary caucus remains strong and with the spirit of arise and act, you can be optimistic of a parliamentary majority come January 7, 2021″, the Tamale South Member of Parliament noted.

The manifesto he acknwoledged was drafted to meet the needs and aspirations of Ghanaians in general hence his conviction that it will live up to expectation.



“For the first time in the history of any political party in this country, we are presenting to you a manifesto that was not developed by leaders of the party who have arrogated to themselves the power of thinking for other people”, he pointed out.

Adding, “We are presenting to you a product of the people’s own thinking which we have put together polished and developed into implementable programmes”.

The legislator was of confident that, the age-long problem of underdevelopment for this country would be solved once and for all by the People’s Manifesto.



The Peoples’ Manifesto he was birthed by engaging the people on how they would want to see Ghana in the next four years, what country they envisaged to live in in the next four years and how to build that country.

It is believed that, the just launched Manifesto of the main opposition party, National Democratic Congress would be the game changer for the party flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama as he contest the sitting President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the upcomg polls on December 7th, 2020.
