Barely eleven (11) days to this year’s Presidential and Parliamentary elections on 7th December, 2020, one of the smaller political parties, Democratic Peoples’s Party (DPP) has endorsed the main opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama following the party’s decision to bow out of race.

In an address during the party’s National Conference held at the Kama Center in Accra on Monday, November 23, 2020, the party General Secretary, Alhaji Muhammad Salisu Sulaimana indicated that, he party out of respect and honour decided not to contest the Presidential election following the death of the wife of the party’s Leader and Flagbearer, Lawyer Thomas Nuako Ward-Brew.

According to him, the party before deciding to bow out of the race had seen firsthand the many debilitating plights of the masses and was working to develop a solid responsive programme and accelerated action plan for the country.

“Whiles contemplating how to participate in a rescue programme for our dear country, we were welcome with a manifesto dubbed ‘The Peoples Manifesto’ from a sister Social Democratic party, the NDC, a party that shares our principles and ideology”, he acknowledged.

Emphasizing that, the content of the ‘Peoples manifesto’ was strikingly deep and convincing that, a National Executive Committee meeting was held where a resolution was made.
