At the launch of the diglot Bible which also falls in line with the 56th Anniversary celebration of the Society at the Christ Apostolic church at Osu, a suburb of Accra, the General Secretary of BSG, Rev. Dr. Enoch Aryee-Atta said the word of God is life and empowers believers particularly Christians to grow in faith and demonstrates also the virtues and values of the Bible in every human endeavour.

“The core mandate of the BSG is to reach out to every Christian with the Bible which challenges the Society to translate the Bible into various Ghanaian languages for easy reference,” he said.

Rev. Dr. Aryee-Atta explained that the Society have currently translated the Bible into 9 Ghanaian languages namely Asante Twi, Akuapm, Ga, Mfantse, Ewe, Dagbani, Dangme, Nzema an Esahie.

According him, the translation of the respective languages take years for the compilation of the said versions and urged Christians to present Bibles as gifts on special occasions, adding that the word and teachings of the scripture have a spiritual impact on humanity hence every Christian must have a Bible as a household book.

The Area Head of Techiman Christ Apostolic Church, Rev. Dr. George Asante in a sermon themed, “Understanding the Keys to Unlocking Supernatural Favour”, quoting from 1 Samuel 16:10-13 challenged Christians to pray and practise the Word of God throughout their lives.

He said it is through that spiritual encounter that the favour of God will come upon believers and further preached that favour awaits every Christian thus all must pray fervently and trust that they will receive God’s blessings.

Unveiling the Bible, Rev. Dr. Asante commended the Bible Society of Ghana for their commitment in translating the Bible into some key Ghanaian languages and said that it is a better way of bringing the Word of God closer to Christian community.

“As Christians, the Bible is the spiritual light in our daily lives therefore our household must have a Bible for reading and teaching”, he said.
