Ghana Football Association admits Mohammed Kudus might not be available for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

The GFA are in talks with Ajax for the Dutch giants to soften their stance and allow the midfielder to join the Black Stars.

Ajax are reluctant to release Kudus who is recovering from a rib injury which he picked up while on international duty last month.

The club do not want Kudus to take part in the Afcon immediately after his recovery as they fear another setback.

Kudus has struggled with injuries since moving to Ajax in 2020, suffering five different types of injuries in a year and a half.

Prior to the move, the former Nordsjaelland had no injury record.

Black Stars are training in Doha, Qatar ahead of the tournament scheduled to kick off on January 9.

Meanwhile no player will be called up to replace Mohammed Kudus if the Ajax midfielder is ruled out of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, Ghanasoccernet has learnt.

Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac is hopeful that Ajax will agree to allow Kudus, who is recovering from a rib, to join the Black Stars.

However, should Ajax insist on keeping Kudus, Rajevac has no intention of replacing him.
