Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Samuel Boadu has admitted the need to work extra hard if they will make an impact.
The defending champions are gradually losing the grip on their title defence following mixed results in the season.
What prompted the young tactician’s comments was their week 16 derby loss to city rivals, Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium last Sunday.
Abdul Razak Yusif’s 30th minute strike was enough to separate the two sides in the penultimate game of the first of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League.
Samuel Boadu said: “We need to work extra. All the clubs are pushing hard but we need to push harder so that we can attain whatever we want to,” Samuel Boadu told StarsTimes.
“When you get all the chances and you misuse all the chance and the opponent gets the chance he will punish you.
“So we too we have to work more on scoring.” Samuel Boadu added. The 21 time league champions have managed to claw six wins this term, recording a whopping five draws and four losses.
A 7th place standing with 23 points sees them trail leaders and sworn rivals, Asante Kotoko by 10 points with the two set to clash on February 20 for their week seven outstanding fixture.
