Head coach of Real Tamale United, Shaibu Tanko has believes things will change for the better in the second round of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League.
The “Pride of the North” got their season off to a roller coaster start – claiming seven points from their first five matches of the season.
Their biggest defeat came in week 4 when two time champions, Aduana Stars hammered a 5-1 result past them at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park.
The premier league returnees have so far earned a paltry four points from a possible 15 in their last five games.
The 2-0 loss at the Baba Yara Stadium in week 16 to King Faisal rattled their feathers, leaving room for questions of coach Tanko’s abilities.
The former Hearts of Oak has however assured the club’s following of much better results in the second round.
“It’s going to be a different ball game in the second round because all these teams who have beaten us, I don’t see them to be teams that can really stand the test of time especially in Tamale.” Shaibu Tanko told StarTimes.
Real Tamale United returned to the top flight after 13-years of hibernation in Division One League. They currently sit 12th on the league table with 19 points from 16 matches and will host defending champions, Hearts of Oak in the last game of the first round at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale.
