As the ruling party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) gears towards its national elections of executives, one name that rings bells in the minds and hearts of delegates and grassroots for the position of General Secretary is Hon. Fredrick Opare-Ansah.
According to grassroots and key members especially former Members of Parliament of the party at the polling stations, Constituencies, regional and national level, Hon. Fredrick Opare-Ansah is the best choice for the party to build, enhance, and strengthen the party structures for 2024 general elections and beyond.
To them, a strong administrative centre is critical in coordinating the party’s political activities towards successful elections and for the preservation of the party tradition.
Throwing their weight behind Hon. Fredrick Opare-Ansah candidature is Friends of Opare-Ansah (FOA).
Friends of Ooare-Ansah is a group that believes in the ideas and capabilities of former Member of Parliament for Suhum Constituency, Hon. Fredrick Opare-Ansah to build a strong party machinery that would ensure victory in the next general elections when elected General Secretary in the upcoming national executives elections.
This declaration of support for the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Suhum Constituency was done at the official declaration of intent to contest the General Secretary position when the party opens nominations later in the year.
The official declaration of Intent which was held on Saturday, 26th March, 2022 at Akroma Plaza Hotel, Takoradi was under the theme: “restoring the grassroots faith in breaking the eight and beyond”.
Speaking at the event, the President of Friends for Opare-Ansah, Miss. Ewuruadjoa explained that, currently, the party needs a general Secretary who is sober and reflective.
This she said is fundamental in building a strong party machinery which in turn ensures winning elections.
Adding that, the above qualities can be found in the former Member of Parliament for Suhum Constituency.
“Hon. Fredrick Opare-Ansah is the best person with these qualities to unify, close the gap between the rank and file of the party, the young and the old, the rich and the poor”, she attributed.
To her, the political role of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the destiny of Ghana cannot be manifested with out a strong party.
This she said is what makes Hon. Opare-Ansah the best option for the party when the party searches for an answer to its weakened administrative structure.
Mrs. AwuraAdwoa Coleman therefore used the occasion to call on all sundry especially delegates to seek the best interest of the party and the grassroots members by campaigning vigorously for Hon. Opare-Ansah when the time comes to be the party General Secretary.
This she believes would help the party to retain power and as well as break the eight they desire for.
Also gracing the official declaration of intent, the former Member of Parliament whom Hon. Fredrick Opare-Ansah succeeded, Hon. Ransford Agyepong pointed out, Opare-Ansah possess the qualities the party needs in a General Secretary to champion the ‘break the eight’ agenda.
Therefore he threw his weight behind him and assured him of his unflinching support when the party opens it doors for active campaign for the various executive positions.
