Kumawu By-election: Constituents will give NPP Resounding Victory-Chairman Wontumi declares

The upcoming by-election in Kumawu has been described as an election that will deepen the Ashanti region’s gracious and unshaken support and faith in the ruling party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the constituents in Kumawu will massively come out in their numbers to vote for the party’s Parliamentary Candidate, Ernest Yaw Anim, hence a resounding victory.

To him, the NPP is the only political party that has the proven blueprint to drive the nation’s prosperity and progress even in the face of real challenges in its 6years in power.

Chairman Wontumi as he is affectionately called made this statement during his interaction with the media at the Massive Kumawu for Ernest Yaw Anim final rally at Kumawu held on Sunday, 21st May 2023 to charge the electorates to vote massively for the party’s parliamentary candidate.

He therefore made a passionate appeal to the people of Kumawu to rally solidly behind the NPP Parliamentary Candidate, Ernest Yaw Anim, to win decisively, the bye-election on Tuesday, 23rd May 2023

Adding his voice, the Chief Executive of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Mr. Osei Assibey Antwi indicated that, constituents of Kumawu will give NPP a massive win for its numerous policies that have lifted the hardship of Ghanaians which include them.

Citing policies like the Free SHS policy, Planting for food, and Construction of STEM facilities among other policies.

“For a country to move on, it is the numerous progressive policies geared towards the development and growth of the citizenry and NPP has delivered therefore I believe that the constituents of Kumawu will come out in their numbers on Tuesday to vote for our Parliamentary Candidate, Ernest Yaw Anim to retain the seat”, he reiterated.

The final rally saw party stalwarts campaigning massively for the Parliamentary Candidate, Ernest Yaw Anim to retain the seat come Tuesday, 23rd May, 2023.

Some of these stalwarts included the Vice President of the Republic, Dr. Bawumia, and his wife, Samira Bawumia, Members of Parliament, Alan Kyermanteng, Kennedy Adgyepong, national executives and the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who graced the final rally.

The Electoral Commission of Ghana has set May 23, 2023, for the by-election to take place in Kumawu in the Ashanti Region.

The by-election has become necessary after the sitting Member of Parliament Hon. Philip Basoah died after a short illness and was laid to rest on 20th May, 2023.

Meanwhile, four candidates including two independent candidates are lacing their boots in a race to succeed the late MP in the Tuesday by-election.
