Goalkeepers’ trainer of Heart of Lions Stephen Ahorlu has cited inexperience as the reason for their sluggish beginning to the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.

The Kpando-based side made a return to the top-flight league having spent eight years in the Division One League and are eager to retain their place in the competition.

However, they are yet to win a game in the ongoing season with all their matches ending in stalemates.

Ahorlu, who also gained experience during his playing days as a Black Stars shot-stopper attributes their slow start to the season to the inadequate experience among the playing body.

“What I Can say small about our return is, that most of our players are the whole set that we used in Division One.

“We just have one player from Kotoku Royals who played last season in the premiership and even that player is injured.

“Most of them are from different clubs, first division players so you can see it is a little bit inexperience but as time goes on I hope things will be better,” he told Radio Gold.

“They are now seeing how the prayer is so as time goes on things will be changing.” Stephen Ahorlu told Radio Gold Sports.
